Dual Enrolled High School Student - Admissions

Mott Community College offers opportunities for high school students to earn college credits through Dual Enrollment.

As a dual enrolled student you can:

Earn both high school and college credit
Meet high school graduation requirements by taking college courses
Experience college academic expectations early
Finish college sooner
Create the educational program best for you!

There are 4 ways you can earn college credits while in high school

Students may take up to 10 college courses, while in high school.

The State of Michigan has established the following guidelines for students taking courses as a Dual Enrolled student

* Students starting Dual Enrollment in their Junior Year are limited to 6 courses per academic year. However, the student can not exceed a total of 10 courses between Junior and Senior Year.

Are State approved, 5 year high school programs that provide students the opportunity to complete an Associate's Degree.
Early College Programs
Early/Middle College programs are State approved, 5 year high school programs that provide students the opportunity to complete an Associate's Degree.

Mott Middle College – a State approved, Early Middle College located on the main campus of Mott Community College

If you are interested in participating in one of these Early College programs, contact your High School Counselor and/or Principal.
MCC courses are offered in partnership with K-12 School districts, at the High School, taught by MCC faculty.

Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent enrollment programs are partnerships between MCC and individual K-12 School Districts to offer courses at the High School, taught by MCC faculty.

Concurrent Enrollment availability varies by K-12 District. Contact your High School Counselor to determine if your school is a participating partner.
A high school junior or senior who wishes to take college classes but does not have funding through their high school.

Early Admit

Students enroll in MCC classes with parental and high school permission but must pay for the full cost of the classes.

Most public schools pay for their students to attend MCC through these programs. However, any tuition and fees not covered by the high school are the responsibility of the student/family. For state approved non-public school students, the State of Michigan determines what dollar amount it will pay per course for successfully completed classes. Any tuition and fees not covered by the State of Michigan is the responsibility of the student/family. Homeschool students are responsible for their own tuition and fees.

Tuition (in district and out of district) is based on the permanent residence of the student and discounted for students in these high school programs.

All credits earned through dual enrollment classes will be part of your official MCC college transcript.

Who qualifies for dual enrollment?

Students who qualify for dual enrollment are:
- Enrolled in at least one high school class and pursuing a high school diploma.
- Maintaining a high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. - If the student has not yet established a high school transcript, the application will be reviewed on a case by case basis to be decided by both the high school counselor and MCC's Dual Enrollment Office.
- Approved by your high school counselor/administrator.
- Able to meet MCC prerequisites for college courses.

Meet with your high school counselor and/or principal to discuss Dual Enrollment or Concurrent Enrollment.
Your High School Counselor will assist you with the MCC application and enrollment process

There are no deadlines to apply, but **to receive the best course selection, you are encouraged to submit your application by the following dates**:
Fall semester:	March 15
Winter semester:	October 15
Summer semester:	February 15

A valid state or federally issued photo identification (ID) (i.e. driver's license, passport, etc.) is required for all business conducted at Mott Community College.
