Meet our team

Dr. Janie Jacobs currently serves as Associate Vice President of Career, Technical and Workforce Education. Dr. Jacobs is an accomplished leader in higher education with several years of experience overseeing the administration of academic programs, online program delivery, career services, and workforce education programs. Dr. Jacobs earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Baker College, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership in Higher Education from Grand Canyon University.

Autumn Scherzer currently serves as Dean of Workforce and Economic Development (WED). Autumn brings nearly 17 years of progressive experience in workforce and economic development and most recently served as Director of Workforce Development at MCC. Autumn’s expertise aligns closely with the college’s strategic priorities and includes extensive collaboration with educational partners to identify workforce training needs, and to develop future grant-funded initiatives in support of Mott Community College’s mission.

Renee David has been with Mott Community College for 14 years and is the Director of the Corporate Service and Lifelong Learning Department. Ms. David works with companies and community programs that provide training and services to Genesee County and the surrounding areas. Ms. David also assists with grant development, budgeting and reporting for funders as part of program evaluation and/or grant compliance. Ms. David holds a master’s of business administration from Cleary University (2016), a bachelor’s of Business from Cleary University (2013) and associate degrees in Business Administration and General Education (Lansing Community College) as well as certificates in Time Management and Financial Management (Lansing Community College). Renee is a Leading Mott Strong 2023 graduate, attended the Michigan Community College Association Leadership Academy in 2023 and 2024, and earned the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Micro-Credential in 2022.
