This degree will prepare students for jobs in the corrections fields, which include federal and state prisons, county and city jails, halfway houses, probation and parole departments, and private security. This degree also fulfills the educational requirements to be eligible to apply to enter a state-approved training program for the position of corrections officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Students must earn a 2.0 in all CORR, CRJU, SOCY and PSYC coursework to maintain eligibility for MDOC training.
