Grant revenue is critical to Mott Community College

Mott Community College utilizes grant revenue to fund critical components of its mission, serve student needs and advance institutional priorities. Grant Development 101 is a resource provided by the Grant Development Office to assist administrators, faculty, staff and other stakeholders to better understand the grant development process.

Grants supplement federal and state funding, tuition revenue and revenue from property taxes. Considered together with individual and corporate giving, grants are essential in offering the highest quality employment opportunities and service.

Pell Grants, for example, are the source of the most important form of financial aid for MCC students, helping them cover tuition and other educational expenses. Similarly, 98 percent of funding support for MCC’s Workforce and Economic Development Department (WED) comes from grants. WED plays a critical role in the community’s economic development including helping students to identify post-graduation employment opportunities.

The Grant Development Office is part of the Resource Development wing of Institutional Advancement

The Grant Development Office works together with MCC’s Executive Cabinet, administrators, faculty and staff to identify and secure grant funding to meet all of MCC’s needs. The office assists with:

  • Project research and development
