MCC offers several scholarships each year to students in a variety of degree programs. To find out more information, or to see if you qualify for any, go to MCC Scholarships.
The Music Fellowship Program is for students who desire to pursue a career in the field of music and music education. It offers a full-ride scholarship to Mott, giving the Fellow the opportunity to complete their first two years (up to six semesters) of our Music Program and earn their Associate of Fine Arts in Music degree. Students may then apply to transfer to any university or conservatory, but could take advantage of our transfer agreement with Saginaw Valley State University or University of Michigan - Flint in particular.
Fellows must have graduated from high school or have earned a GED, but there is no age restriction. Students who graduated with a GPA under 2.0 can still be accepted into the program but will be on academic probation for their first semester and must earn a 2.5 GPA in their music classes and 2.0 overall to be removed from probation.
Fellows are expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA in their music classes and a 2.0 GPA overall. In addition to their class schedule, they will participate in the chamber music program or the jazz combo. These ensembles are expected to participate in the outreach program. Each Fellow will commit to a minimum of 10 hours of outreach each semester (Fall/Winter). In addition, they will volunteer usher for The Whiting and/or The Capitol for at least five (5) shows, each semester. They will work closely with the Academy/Outreach coordinator.
Fellows will participate in a wide variety of workshops, seminars and professional development opportunities to expand their understanding of all aspects of artistic and administrative activities required of professional musicians.
