Mott Community College sponsors the Motorcycle Safety Program in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Traffic Safety and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. All courses are held at our Southern Lakes Branch Center - Fenton (SLBC) .
MCC offers a Motorcycle Safety Basic Training and Basic Rider Course 2.
The Motorcycle Safety Education courses offered by this agency are conducted with state funds from a motorcycle safety grant administered by the Michigan Department of State.

All sessions are held at MCC's Southern Lakes Branch Campus in Fenton, MI.
This course is geared to students with little or no experience on a motorcycle. This training covers the mental and physical aspects of riding, protective gear, common and special riding situations. The weekend class is Friday nights, 5:30-7:30 p.m. with Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (except where noted).
You must be on time for all class sessions. Instructors will wait only 5 minutes. No-shows who wish to sign up for another session must pay an additional $50 registration fee. Availability is limited and classes fill very fast.
NOTE: Anyone under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian with them the first meeting of the class to sign the motorcycle waiver form in front of the Instructor or a notarized waiver form is acceptable.
The MSF Basic Rider Course includes an online eCourse that you must complete online, prior to your first formal classroom session. The eCourse portion of the BRC is a flexible, self-paced, online teaching tool with integrated graphics, photos and videos to better instruct you on the fundamentals of riding a motorcycle and takes approximately 5 hours to complete. To register for the MSF BRC, the cost is $50.00 (payable to: Mott Community College). Upon your registration with MCC for the MSF BRC, MCC will provide you an online coupon code that will waive the $39.99 MSF cost for the eCourse portion of the New BRC and enroll you in a riding skills class. You must enter the coupon code when you go online to take the eCourse to have the $39.99 MSF fee waived.
Requirements:
This course is designed mainly for experienced but unendorsed motorcyclists; however, endorsed motorcyclists also use this course to refresh their skills. Students must be able to perform the skills learned in the Basic Rider course along with the skills they will learn in Returning Rider Course in order to pass the skills test and receive your endorsement. Topics include: braking, countersteering, turning, speed judgment and other techniques necessary for the experienced rider to operate a motorcycle skillfully and safely. Students must provide their own motorcycle. The motorcycle must be titled, registered and insured; and it must display a valid license plate. Students must provide proof of insurance. Successful completion allows a student to waive the written knowledge test and riding-skills test at the Secretary of State.
The Returning Rider Course includes an online eCourse that you must complete online prior to your first formal classroom session. The eCourse portion of the RRC is a flexible, self-paced, online teaching tool with integrated graphics, photos, and videos to better instruct you on the fundamentals of riding a motorcycle and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. To register for the RRC, the cost is $50.00 (payable to: Mott Community College). Upon your registration with MCC for the RRC, MCC will provide you an online coupon code that will waive the $39.99 MSF cost for the eCourse portion of the New RRC, and enroll you in a riding skills class. You must enter the coupon code when you go online to take the eCourse to have the $39.99 MSF fee waived.

If a spot is available and you have completed our ecourse within the past 30 days of the start date of the course, you can pay an additional $50 for a walk in spot on a first come first serve basis.
